Very Cool Tree

Lago Llanquihue, originally uploaded by Elton Melo.

My bestie who lives in Argentina sent me this picture as it reminded him of Piccadilly. It's a lovely tree in an even lovelier location.

I cant seem to make the image smaller to fit in the viewing space...sorry

Fine Little Day

Today I came across this lovely little Swedish site called Fine Little Day. Elisabeth is a designer but what is super cool is that her son Otto seems to have caught some of her creativity and designed this awesome wallpaper aptly called 'ahoy'.

Dont you just love it!!! My son would love to design his own wallpaper, now there is an idea.

A bike to go with my basket

Last week I posted a how to pretty your bike snippet, well one of my readers has found me the bike to go with it. Being released in Australia soon, not sure I can justify it after my photography purchases but I do love it so.

For more info take a look here
There are some alternate colour choices but this is my stand out. whats yours?

an epihanie

So I have been totally lusting after the Lola Camera Bag from
epiphanie for about 12 long months. Every time I thought I was close to splashing out something else extremely dull like a root canal or car service came along and ruined all my plans. Finally some money came through from the sale of my some of my fathers cameras and I did it. It arrived yesterday, I am sure my son Jonah thought I had completely lost it when I was skipping out of the post office with package in hand. I love it!!! Totally stylish and suits me alot better than a boring old mans camera bag. It is slightly smaller inside than I thought it would be but still very very happy. I have my camera, 2 lenses and a flash and a few little bits and pieces in it. I do need to remove my flash if I want to pop my purse in.

I could not wait another second before taking a photo of the box it came in.

How stunning is it? Loving the silver camera tag hanging from it.

This is the lovely inside.

I also lashed out and bought a 30mm 1.4 lens for my Pentax and an external flash, I shopped around and the best deal was from B&H Photo, an American well respected site. Am blown away by their prompt service, I ordered on Thursday night and it arrived on Monday. They sell all kinds of products including ipods and laptops. The product reviews are brilliant and helped me make an informed decision.

Looking forward to getting out there with my bag and new lens and see what I can create.

Dream Home

I am currently house hunting so am on the real estate sites about a zillion times a day. If I lived in Sydney and if I had lots of disposable income then Collette Dinnigans House would be right at the top of my wish list. It's located in Paddington and is simply divine. Would not need to change a thing.

Oh My...how amazing is this kitchen and how it opens to the pool, I would just cook all the time.

Don't you just love it? A girl can dream. You can see more on domain.com

You may also want to take a look at Sarah Jessica Parkers House that I blogged about earlier this month.

Deliciously Inspiring

I am so excited about my find today, I came upon theydrawtheycook through the fabulous Twig and Thistle and what a find.
I am very passionate about food and cooking and groovy arty things. This fabulous blog combines the two of them. Very unique and just lovely to look through. I could have posted hundereds of pics but here are some standout faves.

How cute and quirky are the first two? They are from the Motherland...Poland and 2 of my favorite dishes.

I can't get enough beetroot and here is another great Polish Recipe.

Who doesn't like a good quiche?

Quirky and Cute.

Couldn't possibly not share an Indian recipe.

Yummy!!! I think I would add a touch of chilli to this one.

Very colourful and spicy.

Hope you enjoyed these delicious morsels.

How to Pretty Up Your Bike

I am dreaming of a lovely spring day where I can feel the warmth of the sun on my bare skin (this Victorian Winter is getting very old). I want to find a gorgeous old bike just so I can strap on this most divine Design House Stockholm Carrie Bicycle Basket that you can find over at Huset. While you are there take a look at all their other fantastic goodies. Back to my Basket....imagine taking a ride with your basket full of gourmet yummies, some cheeses from my earlier post and perhaps a nice bottle of moscato.

I also totally love this idea. These are called Gorilla Dollhouses. The kids can build their own mainstreet with these flat-packed extra high quality cardboard doll houses. My kids would have a ball going to town and decorating with crayons, textas, stickers, scraps of fabric and scrapbooking papers.

Secretly, I would have just as much fun as the kids decorating these houses.

Double Birthday Madness

It's so hard to grasp that my babies have turned 5.......5....thats just crazy. It seems like yesterday that we were anxiously waiting for our two little bundles of joy to enter the world. It's been a tough road at times but I have made it. It's has been a week full of excitement for 2 girls turning 5 and today they had their 'friends' birthday party which was loads of fun. With a little help from Donna Hay I managed to 'style' my layered cake quite succesfully. Tomorrow we are celebrating with family in Melbourne so cake number 2 is being created. Stay tuned.

Anyone for Cheese?

These kind of postings just aren't fair, now all I can think about is cheese, cheese, cheese. How deliciously styled is this gorgeous table by Sunday Suppers for Martha Stewart. No words need to be said except Yum.

What's In Style?

A horrendous journey through the rain and traffic from Geelong took me to Life In Style at Flemington yesterday where Pamela (photographer extraordinaire) and I did a quick lap of all the beautiful things on show. My heart was skipping a beat and I was going weak at the knees every few minutes. WOW!!! is all I can say. So much amazing talent out there. Good thing I cant spend money there or I would have been in BIG trouble.

So the stand outs for both Pamela and I were.

This is the one place where I was able to purchase something and I could not walk away from this gorgeous divine card distributed by La-La-Land. It is my twin girls Lola and Bella's 5th Birthday today and this card really reminds me of them. The artist is Art and Ghosts

I also could not walk past these two. More twins and just adore Ruby in Red.

Next was ferm living
A treasure trove of lovely things. I really like their wall stickers, especially these two.

and how cute is this cushion?

I could fill a blog post or two on them so best to just go check out their site.

I was very taken by Samantha Robinsons porcelain. So much beauty in her work. I loved the colours and shapes and her unique style. The watermelon bowl is a stand out and just screams "Summer"

So thats a just a teensy tint taste of what we saw

My Creative Outlet

I spend alot of time talking to incredibly talented artists and seeing it all come together under one roof. Many people ask me what I do and I do a bit of everything. Was always a very creative child and have been sewing since I can remember and have had a camera in my hand since a very young age. I just dont sell anything..yet. I have always loved patchwork quilts and have wanted to make one for ever but life and then babies got in the way but 2 months ago I finally started and have completed 3 small quilts for my kids to snuggle on the couch with and take for sleepovers.

So here they are. I have been wanting to share them for weeks but have been consumed with market postings.

They love them and my son told me that when he was sad and missing me at his grandparents he wrapped it around himself and pretended it was a hug from me and he said he could hear my voice.....he is just too precious for words.

I was feeling down when I launched into Bella's quilt hence the bright colours, I wanted something to warm my spirits and it worked. I love it and so does Bella.

My beautiful children being the perfect models

Stay tuned for a quilt I have just starting working on for my cousin.
