You came, you shopped and you loved Piccadilly

Wow!!!!
I am so over the moon with the very first Piccadilly Market yesterday.
It was a beautiful morning to be on the waterfront so the weather gods were very kind. There were people queued up before the doors opened.
My people on the doors estimated at least 2000 people came to have a peek and from all accounts you all seemed to be happy with what the amazing stall holders had on offer.

Take a look at the fabulous photos
taken by my extremely awesome friend and photographer Pamela.

We had a chance to win some fabulous prizes by signing up to the mailing list. I was overwhelmed with the number of people so I will endevour to draw out some lucky people in the next couple of days. Please stop back again this week for a chance to win a couple of goodies simply by giving me some feedback.

Here is the lucky winner of the $100 voucher and her beautiful purchase.

A HUGE thank you to my friends and family who have supported me in helping me acheive my dream. Special thanks to Pamela, Vicki, Kate, Shane, Mum, Ian and the fabulous Superman aka Luke.

We have a Winner

Congratulations to Bronia who has won $100. When I called her she said she has never won anything in her life. She is going to come up from Melbourne and make a day of it. With our location being on the Waterfront and a forecast of 30 degrees, its going to be fantastic day out for the family.

How on earth Bronia is going to choose what to spend her $100 on I dont know but I do know she will have fun doing it.

Congratulations again Bronia. Come see me when you get there and I will hand over the voucher.

Thank you to everyone for all your great, positive and encouraging comments.
See you on Sunday.

Smudge

Smudge was established in 2004 to fulfill a passion for supplying children’s products that are highly sought after, well made and bring a smile to the faces of children. And so, the Personalised Pencil Case was born!

As demand increased, the range has grown to include Personalised Library & Creche Bags, Beach & Bath Towels, Backpacks, Art Smocks, Lunch Boxes, Swimming Bags and more.

The latest addition to our range is the gorgeous Frilly Bloomers & Frilly Skirts trimmed with gros-grain ribbon.

My son had a red backpack with his name on the back. I always got so many comments and his kinder teachers loved it and mentioned they wished all kids had them to make bag identification easier.

I am keen to put in orders for some artsmocks for my girls.

Sandra Bowkett

I am very pleased to have Sandra Bowkett as a stall holder. Her work is beautiful and very unique. Check out her site and if you get a chance have a look at her amazing photography as well.

Sandra describes her work below:

I am drawn to the sculptural and functional objects of many cultures from the refined fine bone china and porcelain of Europe to the bold lowfired utilitarian forms of India and Africa. In my ceramic practice this diversity is apparent as I move between the two streams of my work. One direction is refined porcelain wearable objects where ceramic decals are used. I enjoy the play of using image and colour before the committing the piece to the fire.

In contrast I enjoy the different pace of handforming small objects. These are usually based on functional forms. I strive for a simple refined form with subtle textures that imply the making. I have been exploring the use of metal oxides and found earth materials. These pieces are either low fired fine clays or porcelains often under or over fired from the recommended temperatures.

I enjoy the craft of working with clay. The many processes involved from taking a piece from conception to a ceramic object are many and varied. The challenge of ‘the right’ combinations keeps me engaged in this work.

Chook Leaf

The Chook Leaf brand has become the name synonymous with comfortable children’s footwear. Designed in Australia since 2005 it has gained the reputation as the comfortable fun brand of shoes that children love to wear.

Chook Leaf shoes are hand made in the softest lambskin leather. They have a flat inner sole and wide toe circumference that mimic’s walking in bare feet. They are designed for fast growing feet that want to have the freedom to develop without the restriction of hard synthetics and rigid soles. The non slip soles add the benefit of safety to children who are unsure on their feet. All of these elements combined bring you peace of mind when choosing shoes for your child.

Each new range brings fresh and innovative designs for both boys and girls that include contemporary styling and seasonal colours.

Melbourne based designer Rie Southwell knows about style, functionality and children’s feet. With twenty years experience in the design of women’s fashion and children’s footwear the mother of three now takes great delight in watching her kids grow and enjoy their childhood in comfortable and fashionable Chook Leaf shoes.

This unique brand is available in boutiques around Australia and enjoys the repeat purchases from customers whose children won’t wear anything else.

Koolaman Designs

I am very excited about Koolaman Designs being part of Piccadilly.

Over the decades, Australian women have always found ways to be resourceful during times of hardship and drought and Lisa O’Keefe and Stacey Clayton of Koolaman Designs are no exception. From Lisa family’s 73,000-acre sheep and wheat station in Northern NSW, the sisters launched koolaman designs, silver with character® a collection of hand stamped silver jewellery that is being snapped up by women across the country.

Lisa lives on Koolaman Station with her husband and three children. Stacey lives near Rutherglen on the farm where the girls grew up with her husband and three children.

All pieces in the collection are hand stamped by Lisa and Stacey and have become a popular way to celebrate the birth of a child or a special anniversary. Mum’s and dad’s tell the girls that they love having the names and birthdates of their children swinging on beautiful pendants around their neck as it keeps those special people close to their hearts.

Koolaman Designs are also available online and prices range from $70-$150. With Mother’s Day just a few months away, it could be that perfect, elusive gift for the mum that has everything. Koolaman Designs, for new mum’s, not-so-new mum’s or just your mum.
